Grundig Digital Dictation and Dragon NaturallySpeaking
A Grundig digital dictation system from Krause Practice Management can be used with Dragon NaturallySpeaking to turn your voice into text. Once the software is trained and you have learned a few simple voice commands, your dictations will be translated into text with 99% accuracy.
The easiest way to turn voice into text using Dragon is to use one of Grundig's desktop dictation system. Long-time Dragon users will tell you that a high-quality microphone is one of the keys to successfully using the software. The SonicMic II and SonicMic Classic are wired microphones that provide high-quality voice input. The Digta Cordex provides the same high quality voice input with a wireless microphone at ranges up to 25 feet. With a SonicMic or Digta Cordex, you simply talk into the microphone and watch your words appear on screen. If Dragon misunderstands your speech, correct it and Dragon will learn from its mistakes. A proficient Dragon user can turn voice into text three times faster than they can type the same text.
Dictating on the go? The Digta 7 can also be used with Dragon. Just create your dictation, making sure to insert appropriate commands for new paragraphs and punctuation. When you return to the office, dock your Digta 7 and transfer the files to DigtaSoft Pro. Once the file is in DigtaSoft, right click on it and send it to voice recognition. A box will appear on screen and your text will begin to fill into the box. After the recognition is complete, copy the text into your word processor of choice and format as necessary. A file transcribed in this way will seem to have more errors because you are not correcting as you go. However, in our experience, a full page of text can be produced in this method in about fifteen minutes. Typing while composing the same information takes at least a half hour and sometimes longer. It really is true - you can talk and compose in complete thoughts much faster than you can those same thoughts.
