 The Digital Dictation Process

Many users fear that digital dictation will be too complicated. In reality, with the right digital dication equipment, the entire process is incredibly easy.  Here is how it works.

Mobile Dictation

The Grundig Digta 7 is our choice for mobile dictation.  It is so easy to use that many of our users dictate using only three controls - the on/off button, the new dictation button and the dictation slider.  To dictate, simply turn the unit on, press "New" and slide the switch into the record position.  If you are a dictation veteran, the slide switch will be familiar.  It works just like the slide switch on an analog tape unit.  There really is nothing new to learn.  When you are finished, hit "New" again to start another dictation or dock the unit to transfer the file.  You don't have to worry about transferring after each dictation.  Everything is automatic with the included Digtasoft Pro software.  The Digta 7holds up to 300 hours of dictations.  The Digta 7 is ergonomic and comfortable to use.  Download the Digta 7 Datasheet.

Desktop Dictation

For dictation right at your desktop, try the Digta Cordex or SonicMic II.  These units allow you to record a dictation directly into Grundig's DigtaSoft software.  The only operational difference from the Digta 7is that the slide switch is on the front of the unit rather than on the side.  The SonicMic II is a USB connected microphone.  The Cordex is a wireless microphone with a 25 foot range.  It allows you to do things like walk across the office to retrieve a file without having to stop dictating.  Don't worry if you are temporarily out of range.  The Cordex has a 1 minute buffer.  Once you are back within range your stored dictation is wirelessly transferred to your computer.  When you are finished, use DigtaSoft to send the dictation to the transcriptionist of your choice.  The Digta Cordex and SonicMic II devices are also great devices for use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking if you prefer a microphone only as opposed to a headset type device.

Send to Transcriptionist

Grundig dictation equipment comes with everything you need to quickly and easily transfer your dictation to the transcriptionist of your choice or to a transcription pool.  With a mobile unit like the Digta 7, you simply place the unit in the docking station and the file is automatically transferred to your transcriptionist or to your copy of DigtaSoft Pro, the dictation software included with the unit.  If you automatically transfer the file to your transcriptionist, a message informs them that a new dictation has arrived.  It you transfer to your own copy DigtaSoft first, you have the opportunity to add notes, deadlines or priorities before you send.  If you are using a desktop dictation unit, the dictation is already in DigtaSoft.  Simply send it to the transcriptionist of your choice.

Not in the office?  The Digta 7can be connected via USB cable to any computer.  Once connected it appears as a removable disk, much like a digital camera or some mp3 players.  Any file on the unit can be emailed directly to your transcriptionist back at the office.

Yes, it really is that simple.
